Cultural mission

Far from the effects of fashion, and from all sorts of snobbery, our conception of culture is definitely not elitist. We believe that culture begins when the entertainment provides food for thought, and permits us to discover new knowledge, or to develop new skills.
 
The cultural mission of the Cirque éducatif
 

• Production and presentation of a show which is, at the same time, a family entertainment and, for both teachers and pupils, an original method to teach and learn the official syllabus. Producing healthy emotions, this show is based on a theme, and has a scenario which allows a logical progression. The latest themes:- "We know the music", about the relationship between circus and music; "Ok, let's dance now!", about dance and circus; and "Let's sing the circus"...when circus inspires song.

 

• Cultural activities based on two principles. On the one hand it is a question of making the circus have a dialogue with other forms of artistic expression -a concert of music inspired by the circus, or of pieces of classical music which circus artistes choose to accompany their acts; a theatrical evening inspired by the circus; the young people's book fair dedicated to works of fiction having circus for a framework; an exhibition of paintings inspired by the circus. On the other hand, we try to involve the local cultural structures, both professional and amateur.
